Clinical NLP Trainer in Canada

If you have watched a client sit with the same pain, session after session, you already feel the difference between calming trauma and resolving it. Allen Kanerva, MA, trains clinicians and coaches across Canada to resolve it, at the level of the nervous system, without asking the client to relive it.

The gap

Most NLP training in Canada is not clinical

Canada has no shortage of NLP courses. Most teach communication, mindset, and personal growth. Very few are built for clinical trauma work, and fewer still are grounded in published evidence. That gap is exactly why INSPYRD exists.

Allen Kanerva is a clinical NLP trainer based in Guelph, Ontario. Through INSPYRD he trains licensed clinicians, therapists, counsellors, and coaches, in Ontario, across Canada, and internationally, to work at the level where trauma is actually held: the emotional memory and the nervous system.

What makes it clinical

A named mechanism, not a technique with a promise

The method

Affective Memory Resolution (AMR)

AMR updates the emotional charge held in a memory through memory reconsolidation, rather than only managing the symptom.

Without reliving it

Visual Spatial Tasking (VST)

VST loads working memory while an emotional memory is active. The memory cannot stay vivid under that load, so it reduces as it reconsolidates, no detailed retelling required.

Evidence, not adjectives

A published pilot

In an early pilot with Rising Angels, completers showed a mean 86.6% reduction on the PSSI-5, with 10 of 11 below the PTSD diagnostic threshold. See it on Zenodo.

These are early-stage results evaluating the method (not the app), independently assessed. This is educational training for qualified practitioners and does not guarantee individual client outcomes.

About Allen

Trained where trauma is the rule, not the exception

Allen Kanerva, MA, is the founder of INSPYRD and the developer of Affective Memory Resolution (AMR) and Visual Spatial Tasking (VST). Before this work he was a Canadian military pilot and humanitarian, serving in Iraq, Uganda, Sudan, and Somalia. The protocols he now teaches grew out of that environment, and out of his own recovery.

He trains from Guelph, Ontario, to master's-program standards, with references drawn from inside and outside the NLP field, so practitioners leave consciously competent rather than merely certified.

Questions

What people ask before they enrol

Is Allen Kanerva a clinical NLP trainer in Canada?

Yes. Allen Kanerva is a clinical NLP trainer based in Guelph, Ontario. Through INSPYRD he delivers a self-paced online Clinical Applications of NLP and Neuroscience certification, recognized by the American Board of NLP, training clinicians and coaches across Ontario, Canada, and internationally in AMR and VST.

What is Affective Memory Resolution (AMR)?

AMR is Allen Kanerva's neuroscience-grounded method for resolving trauma by updating the emotional charge held in a memory through memory reconsolidation. It uses Visual Spatial Tasking to resolve trauma without requiring the person to relive it in detail, and sits within PACE, the Protocol for Achieving Clinical Excellence.

What is Visual Spatial Tasking (VST)?

VST is a technique within AMR that introduces a concurrent visual-spatial load on working memory while an emotional memory is active. Because working memory cannot fully sustain both at once, the vividness and emotional intensity of the memory reduce as it reconsolidates. It targets the encoding of the memory rather than acting as a coping strategy.

Is this medical treatment?

No. INSPYRD's programs are educational training for qualified practitioners. They are not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and do not replace care from a qualified professional.
